Eat That Frog

There’s an old saying, “If the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is eat a live frog, then nothing worse can happen for the rest of the day!” Author Brian Tracy says that your “frog” should be the most difficult item on your to-do list, the one you are most likely to procrastinate. He further explains that it is best to eatthat first, in order to gain the energy and momentum for the rest of the day. Failing to do so, you are simply letting let it sit there on the plate and stare at you while you accomplish the other unimportant duties during the day; this can drain your energy and you won’t even know it.

So, avoid procrastinating and make the important stuff you usually tend to run away from, a top priority. My main point – get more of the important tasks done first and quit postponing is the key to achieving. It is funny how when I explained this to my team; they came up with a good comeback saying that meeting me on Monday morning was like “Eating the Frog” which was quite amusing for me ! Well, to each his own…J
